E-Books are big
business on the Internet these days. If you are not familiar with e-books,
they are simply books (usually less content than a printed book) that are
available for immediate download after purchase from a website. E-books are
great because they are easy to create, free to distribute and have a high
profit margin.
If you love pets and love to make
them look their best, a pet groomer is a very profitable business to
start. If you do not have much experience in the grooming industry,
you will need to learn. Take some classes or work at a groomer's
office for a little while before venturing out on your own. Pet
owners who take their pet to a groomer tend to care a great deal
about their animal. If you don't know how a certain breed is
supposed to look, you may be in for an upset owner yelling at you.
Many pet owners (especially in the hot south) take their pets in to
get shaved to help the pet stay cool in the hot summers. This is a
relatively easy task assuming you have a pair of clippers and some
patience. If may take a couple of hours per animal until you get
more experience with grooming.
Most groomers charge on a flat rate basis. Somewhere in the
neighborhood of $40 - $60 for a haircut and wash is reasonable. As
word of mouth spreads about how great your service is, you can make
up to $60,000 per year grooming pets.
You will want to make some nice brochures with pictures of before
and after shots of pets you have groomed. Set them out at pet shops,
veterinarian offices, and parks. Place an ad in the newspaper or
yellow pages to get some initial clients quickly. Offer coupons for
$20 off for first time customers. Once someone finds a groomer they
like, they are often a lifetime customers.
